On March 15th the Building Engineering Research Group (GIIE) organized a training workshop for the creation of building materials with industrial waste.
The workshop was attended by professors and students from the University Expert Course on Inclusive Competencies for Young People with Intellectual Disabilities of the University of Burgos, coordinated by Raquel de la Fuente and José Luis Cuesta.
This course, co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), aims to include students with intellectual disabilities in the university environment, encouraging their autonomy and preparation for the labour market while sharing learning and socialization experiences and learning and leisure activities between pupils with and without disabilities, in order to promote mutual enrichment.
In addition, the course aims to offer a more positive social image of the group of people with intellectual disabilities and of the acceptance of their role as active citizens.
